How to Test Your HP Computer Hardware from Windows | HP Computers | HP

Isolate and identify hardware issues on your HP computer by running HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows. HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows come pre-installed on new HP computers or can be downloaded from hp.com/go/techcenter/PCDiags. To open the utility in Windows, select the Start button, and then select HP Help and Support. Right-click HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows, select More, and then select Run as administrator. HP recommends running a fast system test first, to check to quickly check the computer. On the main menu, select System Tests. Select Fast Test. Select Run once to check your computer hardware. If the system tests do not resolve your issue, run Component Tests to try to identify the
issue. If a test fails, write down the 24-digit Failure ID. For help with the component failure, go to hp.com/contacthp. Read and respond to the prompts to get the warranty options for your computer. Follow the instructions to enter the Failure
ID where indicated on the HP Contact form.

  2. Hello HP, I got a question for you, I have a HP Pavilion 23-h056 TouchSmart All-in-One Desktop PC (ENERGY STAR) computer, I'm trying, with no luck, to replace my wireless keyboard and mouse that came with this computer because they are starting to fail. Is it possible for me to get the same keyboard and mouse that came with my computer, which I really would like to get, but if I can't get the original keyboard and mouse that came with my computer, please tell me what you would recommend. Oh yeah, my operating system is: Windows 8.1 x64. HP, your help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.

  4. Nice tool, but how do I test my optical drive? I don't see an option for it, even though I have my drivers installed, I can find the drive in Explore, it says everything is fine… And there's my optical drive under "System Information."

Yet there's no option to test it. Why?
