Family deprived of government’s welfare schemes | Anil reports for IndiaUnheard

Central government has made the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) where in case of the death of the “primary breadwinner” of a household living below poverty line conditions, a lump sum grant of Rs. 20,000/- is provided to the household However, it is unfortunate to that Chakvaidik village’s resident Kailash who passed away a year back, his wife Geeta Devi has not been helped by this programme She has to face a lot of hardships because of the same (Music) I have many problems. He worked in MGNREGA. I asked the village head to fill up a form for me (for compensation). By filling this form, we get a compensation of Rs. 20,000. If we would have gotten just that much also, our lives will be easier. We will have food to eat, the debts will be repaid. The pradhan told me that we will get Rs. 20,000 but it has been a year since then. Pension? Pension also we haven’t got We had taken a loan for which I am paying the interest somehow. The loan is of Rs. 7,000 a month. I toil day and night to collect this interest amount. Sometimes we get food to eat, but there are days without any food too. The place where I work also give me some food once in a while. How do you earn your living? I make cow dung patties, do menial farming like harvesting potatoes, millet and other crops. I never have a moment’s peace to sit down and relax How much money did the doctor ask for treating your husband? Around 20,000. If we would have gotten the pension then we could have afforded the medicines. Would he have survived? Yes, he would have Even if we would have gotten MGNREGA payment of Rs. 10,000 , I would have managed to add the extra money and saved him She took a debt of Rs.7,000 for the treatment. She has a family of nine to feed. They are dying of starvation. On top of that she isn’t able to benefit from any of the government schemes such as pension, etc. I want that Geeta Devi gets the benefit of the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) So that her troubles are solved I request all the viewers watching this video that they call the number +91 9454465125 and demand that Geeta Devi gets compensated This is Anil Kumar from Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh for Video Volunteers
