THE “CORNELL SCOTT-HILL” HEALTH CENTER IN NEW HAVEN IS RECEIVING TEN MILLION DOLLARS IN STATE MONEY.THE MONEY RELEASED BY GOVERNOR MALLOY WILL BE USED TO ASSIST IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SUBSTANCE ABUSE RECOVERY AND WELLNESS CENTER. ITS PART OF THE “GRANT STREET PARTNERSHIP” TREATMENT PROGRAM.”WHEN YOU TALK WITH OUR PATIENTS WHO HAVE COME THROUGH THE GRAND STREET PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM, AND THE TEARS ROLL DOWN FROM THEIR EYES, AS THEY TELL YOU HOW THAT PROGRAM HAS NOT ONLY SAVED THEIR LIVES BUT ALLOWED THEM TO RESTORE THEIR LIVES.”THE NEW FACILITY WILL ACCOMODATE FIFTY TWO BEDS AND WILL SUPPORT PEOPLE WHO SUFFER
